METHOD FOR DETERMINING DEPTH OF CUTTING PROVIDING DYNAMIC STABILITY OF PROCESSING SPATIAL SURFACES WITH END MILLS

PURPOSE:

The development relates to measuring technology and can be used to determine the depth of cut, provides dynamic stability of the processing of spatially complex surfaces with end ball milling cutters.

DESCRIPTION:

The Ukrainian University has developed a method for determining the depth of cut, which, unlike other existing methods, makes it possible to determine the depth of cut in various areas of spatially complex surfaces with dynamic stability diagrams for processing spatially complex surfaces with final spherical cutters. On the basis of the proposed method, a software application for automated calculation of the depth of cut in the MATLAB® programming language has been developed, experimental studies have been carried out. The results of the development were introduced at the enterprise and in the educational process at the university department. Development does not require a significant investment in time and resources for implementation.

ADVANTAGES:

The proposed technology makes it possible to increase the accuracy of determining the depth of cut and, as a consequence, to increase the productivity of machining spatially complex surfaces with end ball mills.

RECOMMENDED FIELD OF APPLICATION:

The developed system can be implemented at all enterprises where the processing of spatially complex surfaces is carried out by milling on machines with computer numerical control.

Provides consistent results.
