PURPOSE:
The device is designed for cutting stranded wires and cables under voltage. It was created for the purpose of emergency blackout during a fire of residential buildings and structures, the input of which is made by a self-supporting wire of the SIP brand.
DESCRIPTION:
One of the stages of the operational actions of the fire and rescue units during fire fighting is to de-energize the facility. To carry out this work, rescuers armed with a special dielectric tool – dielectric scissors. Since the main conditions for the use of scissors is the cutting of wires with voltage up to 220 V, they cannot be used in modern conditions. In 2006, the rules for the installation of electrical equipment were amended. One of the innovations was the requirement that the lines of electric networks reconstructed or being built in the residential sector should be made in the form of self-supporting insulated wires (SIP). Ukrainian scientists have developed a means of de-energizing buildings, the input of which is made using a self-supporting insulated wire. The device comprises an engine, a rod with a shaft inside, which is connected at one end to the engine, and at the other end through a gearbox on which the device for fixing the wire is fixed, with a cutting element, which is used as a cutting wheel made of dielectric material. The rod is separated from the motor and gear by dielectric inserts, the cutting wheel may have a protective casing. Using extension rods allows cutting wires directly from the ground without additional equipment (stairs, elevators, etc.).
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS:
- cutting wires under voltage up to 220 V;
- possibly cutting wires at a distance of up to 1200 mm;
- cutting disc – 180 mm;
- wire diameter – 2-4 sq.cm;
- DC motor – 3000 rpm;
- power supply – 12 V.
ADVANTAGES:
Reduced time to prepare the device for use, mobility and efficiency in use; safe and trouble-free cross-section of wires and cables under voltage, eliminates the possibility of damage to a person from dangerous factors of short circuit and the use of a powder charge; eliminating the possibility of emergency operation of the electrical network; minimization of attracting the number of personnel of fire and rescue units to de-energize the facility.
