PURPOSE:
An original method has been developed for producing osteoconductive coatings for medical implants based on hydroxyapatite, which is the main component of bone tissue.
DESCRIPTION:
The method consists in applying low-temperature (up to 100 ° С) coatings based on hydroxyapatite and biopolymers to the surface of implants of various shapes using external electromagnetic fields.
ADVANTAGES:
Compared with traditional methods for producing coatings (vacuum technology, plasma and thermal spraying, electrophoresis, sol-gel gel deposition, application by laser radiation), the proposed method has the following advantages:
-
- the method is suitable for deposition on metal implants of various shapes and compositions;
- direct deposition of hydroxyapatite on the surface of substrates from aqueous solutions;
rapid precipitation (from 10 to 60 min); - the possibility of obtaining composite coatings based on biopolymers and/or drugs and hydroxyapatite, which makes it possible to approximate the resulting material in bone tissue;
- coatings have a controlled phase composition, porosity and morphology.
RESULTS OF THE RESEARCH:
Provides consistent results.
STAGE OF THE DEVELOPMENT READINESS:
Prototype manufactured.
TRANSFER OPPORTUNITY:
- Sale of patents.
- Joint bringing to the industrial level.
NOVELTY:
