A method for the treatment of residual and recurrent retinoblastomas, which are localized post-adequately, which consists in the implementation of local chemotherapy (intravitreal injection of a cytostatic agent), 3-4 days after which laser coagulation of tumor foci is performed. Thus, the combination of two methods of direct local action on the tumor provides a synergistic effect, enhancing the effectiveness of each of them, is gentle and safe, and allows in most cases to achieve complete regression of tumor foci, to save the eye without involving systemic PCT with its negative effect on the child’s body.
