A project is being launched in Ukraine that will provide grant support to women entrepreneurs. The money will be given to 15 small and medium-sized enterprises to create, restore, scale or relocate a business.
The total grant fund is UAH 1,503,750, and the amount of individual assistance to entrepreneurs will depend on the purpose of the proposed project and its final performance indicators. Here are the areas of businesses that can receive a grant:
- Ensuring uninterrupted activities (transportation, availability of raw materials, equipment);
- Business entry to foreign markets (expert consultation, certification);
- Marketing support (promotion in social networks and international trading platforms);
- Assistance with relocation to safe areas.
Applications are accepted from May 24 to June 5, and the results will be announced on June 07, 2022.
Every woman who is developing or just starting her own business or running a family business, can apply for a grant. To participate in the program, you must specify personal data and features of the activity, including:
- Business category (small, medium, large);
- Type of activity (education, tourism, creation, trade, IT, etc.);
- Amount of workers;
- Current business needs that require funds (logistics relocation to safe regions, creation of a new enterprise, entry into foreign markets, marketing support, etc.);
- Justification of the business plan (potential attraction of investments, planned income and profit, increase in the number of jobs).
According to YouControl research, since 2010, the number of FOPs opened by women is 25,000 more than those opened by men. However, in founding companies, men are three times more dominant.
The grant is launched by the NGO “Ukrainian Center for Investment and Trade Promotion” with the support of the USAID program “Competitive Economy of Ukraine”.
