The National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine announces competitions to be held in 2022, namely:
- to receive awards for young scientists and students of institutions of higher education for the best scientific work in the field of natural, technical and socio-humanitarian sciences;
- for awards of outstanding scientists of Ukraine;
- for the V. I. Vernadsky Gold Medal of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
For work in the field of natural, technical and socio-humanitarian sciences, the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine annually awards fourteen prizes for young scientists and fourteen prizes for higher education students. Prizes are awarded to individual authors or groups of authors for the best scientific papers, as well as series of scientific papers on a single topic, for discoveries and inventions.
The competition is open to researchers, teachers, trainee researchers, graduate students of research institutions, institutions of higher education under the age of 35, students, as well as graduate students and students of foreign countries who study in scientific institutions and institutions of higher education in Ukraine.
The deadline for submitting work to the competition is December 15, 2022.

To reward scientists who have published the best scientific works, carried out inventions and discoveries that are important for the development of science and the economy of Ukraine, the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine awards prizes named after outstanding scientists of Ukraine.
The deadline for submitting work to the competition is November 1, 2022.
The competition for awards named after outstanding scientists can participate:
- full members and corresponding members of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, regardless of the place of their permanent employment;
- individuals working in scientific institutions, institutions of higher education, enterprises and organizations located on the territory of Ukraine;
- groups of authors who completed the work proposed for the award, if the majority of authors work in scientific institutions, institutions of higher education, enterprises and organizations located on the territory of Ukraine.

To celebrate scientists for outstanding achievements in the field of natural, technical and socio-humanitarian sciences, in honor of the first president of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences – an outstanding scientist, Academician Vladimir Ivanovich Vernadsky, as well as on the occasion of the 85th anniversary of the establishment of the Academy, the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine founded the Gold Medal named after. AND. Vernadsky.
Every year, on the birthday of Academician V. I. Vernadsky, two gold medals are awarded – one to a domestic and one to a foreign scientist.
The deadline for submitting documents for the competition is November 12, 2022. The competition for the Gold Medal named after V. I. Vernadsky can participate:
- full members and corresponding members of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, regardless of the place of their permanent employment;
- foreign scientists;
- individuals working in scientific institutions, institutions of higher education, enterprises and organizations located on the territory of Ukraine.
