November 9, 2023 at 10:00 at the Institute of Linguistics named after. O.A. Similar to the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the International Scientific Conference “Language Policy and Interlinguistic Relations in War Conditions” will be held online.
Conference topics:
- implementation of language legislation: tools and universities;
- language situation in modern Ukraine: quantitative and qualitative parameters;
- problems of linguistic consolidation of Ukrainian society: past, present, future;
- international principles of language policy: features of wartime; implementation of the provisions of the European Charter for Regional or Minority Languages in times of war;
- reflection of the realities of war in the vocabulary, phraseology, grammar, and spelling of the languages of Ukraine;
- linguistic-stylistic features of military discourse;
- models of speech behavior: official sphere, media, science, culture, education, production, service sector;
- linguistic rights of speakers of the state language, indigenous languages and languages of national minorities;
- non-governmental organizations, the expert community and the media as subjects of language policy;
- interaction between state institutions and civil society in language policy;
- domestic and foreign policy aspects of speech policy;
- linguo-legal aspects of language policy and issues of linguistic expertology;
- other aspects of language policy and interlingual relations.
The organizing committee accepts abstracts of reports (volume from 2000 to 9000 characters, taking into account gaps and references) until October 20, 2023 in electronic form (MS Word, RTF and PDF format).
