The European Commission has opened the third wave of competitions under the digital component of the EU’s Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) programme. The European Health and Digital Executive Agency will co-finance projects related to the development of Gigabit and 5G networks.
Both public and private organizations can participate in competitions. There are 2 directions available for participants from Ukraine:
100 million euros – research and work on 5G coverage along transport corridors (roads, railways, waterways);
90 million euros – research and work on launching backbone communications for digital Global Gateways (submarine cables, terrestrial satellite infrastructure).

The deadline for submitting applications for participation in competitions is January 17, 2024.
In June 2023, an Agreement was signed between Ukraine and the EU on the participation of our state in the European Union program “Connecting Europe Mechanism”, which opens up the possibility of financing development projects, in particular Ukrainian digital infrastructure.
