Technology for producing gas from marine gas hydrates

Purpose. The developed technology is intended to solve the problem of obtaining additional energy resources and sources of hydrocarbon gas production from gas hydrate marine deposits.

Specifications. The latest gas hydrate technologies developed will make it possible to achieve profits by abandoning gas pipelines and switching to transporting gas in a solid gas hydrate state (160 – 180 cubic meters of gas can be obtained from 1 cubic meter of gas hydrate) with the possibility of extracting up to 80% of the resource from the deposit. This will provide additional energy resources in the amount of more than 25 trillion. cube m in the Black Sea.

Application area. Mining, chemical and petrochemical industry enterprises. Countries with potential gas hydrate deposits and enterprises in the fuel and energy sector.

Advantages. The technology for producing gas from sea gas hydrates exceeds the scientific and technical level of existing technologies due to the use of a new approach to extracting coal mine methane, converting it into gas hydrates, drilling wells and an integrated approach to obtain additional energy resources.

Technical and economic effect. The use of the proposed technology will make it possible to obtain natural gas from local marine deposits of gas hydrates during the process of dissociation and transportation, increase the efficiency of the gas production process and control the specified parameters (pressure, temperature). The development of offshore gas hydrate deposits can provide an opportunity to fully provide the country with energy and solve the environmental issue of utilizing greenhouse gases as an agent replacing natural gas in the deposits.

Description. The technology for producing hydrocarbon gases from marine gas hydrate deposits includes the introduction of new technological operations and parameters to enable the formation of another more stable system for activating phase transformations of gas hydrates, based on a combined method of influencing gas hydrate deposits with pressure and temperature. Due to this, the possibility of producing hydrocarbon gas from marine gas hydrates and controlling the controllability of the decomposition process of natural gas hydrates is achieved, as well as the possibility of practically creating a single well complex for thorough and long-term processing of the deposit.
