Purpose. To identify various categories of agricultural land for suitability for the introduction of organic agricultural technology systems while simultaneously economically assessing certain categories of suitability.
Specifications. The base of Standards for indicators of suitability of lands (soils) for organic production according to environmental and toxicological criteria defined in the Procedure for assessing the suitability of lands (soils) for the production of organic products is used, as well as comprehensive agrochemical monitoring of the soil cover of the relevant administrative entities based on the results of a comprehensive agrochemical survey. The obtained indicators are grouped and indexed according to the corresponding developed procedure with the determination of the resulting integral complex index of the suitability of agricultural lands for the introduction of organic production.
Application area. Agricultural agro-formations of different forms of ownership and subordination
Advantages. Improving the quality of identifying the zonal suitability of lands for organic production systems, reducing the costs of state monitoring of agricultural lands for suitability for organic production, the general availability of the use of this technology at different levels of management
Technical and economic effect. The technology makes it possible to speed up the process of identifying agricultural lands regarding their suitability for the transition to alternative organic production systems, as well as simultaneously assessing the economic feasibility in the short and long term of such a transition in comparison with the economic levels of agricultural production based on traditional farming. This will ensure overall savings of public funds for diversifying the transition to organic production bases of at least 5.5-7.3% according to marketing calculations and significantly speed up the process of assessing the implementation of organic principles of agricultural production.
Description. Fractional indices of suitability of agricultural lands are calculated based on the national standard of acceptable indicators of soil and agrochemical conditions of fertility, followed by determination of the integral suitability index and rating gradation indicator within the considered land. The calculated indicator is combined with an index of the economic feasibility of switching to organic agricultural production. As a result, we obtain a comprehensive indicator of the technological and economic suitability of agricultural land for the production of various types of products based on organic production.
