Purpose. This technology, through the use of an electronically controlled mixer, makes it possible to operate on biodiesel fuel (its mixtures) and make maximum use of the machine-tractor unit, depending on loading and speed conditions.
Specifications. Mixer control mode: electronic-automatic. Depending on the loading and speed conditions and, as a consequence, the required ratio of diesel and biodiesel fuel required for the efficient operation of the machine and tractor unit, a certain volume of biodiesel fuel is supplied to the Savonius hollow rotor. The required volume of diesel fuel is supplied to the mixer body. When biodiesel fuel exits the rotor, vortex flows are created, ensuring the formation of a mixed fuel with a degree of homogeneity of up to 93% and physical and chemical properties close to diesel fuel.
Application area. Agriculture, mechanical engineering, auto transport.
Advantages. The main advantage is an improved mathematical model of the “Machine unit – engine with dynamic adjustment of the percentage composition of the mixture of diesel and biodiesel fuels” and an improved diesel power system using an electronically controlled mixer sensitive to load-speed conditions.
Technical and economic effect. According to the calculation results, the payback period for installing a system for dynamic adjustment of the fuel mixture for the operation of a diesel engine is 9 months. The developed technology has the following practical value: firstly, it allows one to evaluate the effect of biodiesel fuel on the operating efficiency of internal combustion engines; secondly, it can serve to improve the technical and economic performance of internal combustion engines; thirdly, it will allow improving the power supply system of the internal combustion engine by using an electronically controlled mixer sensitive to load-speed conditions.
Description. The production of biodiesel mixed fuel occurs by using a mixer with an active Savonius rotor, where, depending on the load and speed conditions, the required percentage of fuels is determined with simultaneous mixing to a homogeneous mass to obtain maximum efficiency of the machine-tractor unit.
