Purpose. To optimize the accounting of trees during relascopic taxation by harmonizing with current standards and automating the process of calculating the completeness, composition and stock per 1 hectare of planting.
Specifications. The base is made in the form of a plate, similar to a circle, with dimensions allowing five sighting slits for sighting in the outer zone of the periphery of the base in accordance with standard relascopic coefficients BAF 0.5; 1.0; 2.0; 3.0; 4.0. The base of the plate is additionally equipped with a means for fixing the template on a smooth surface at a distance of 50 cm from the counting eye, which is provided by a chain with the ability to adjust the calibration length.
Application area. Forestry, forest taxation, forest inventory.
Advantages. The Haglöf relascopic template, which is the closest in technology, contains holes for 4 of the 5 possible (provided by the standards) relascopic coefficients BAF, does not provide the possibility of carrying out inventory using BAF 3, which does not allow relascopic assessment in high-density tree stands with diameters from 16 to 32 cm, and also in forest stands with a density of 0.7-0.8 with an average tree diameter of over 32 cm. In addition, sufficient ease of use of the template and calculations are not ensured due to the need to use both hands for counting.
Technical and economic effect. The relascopic template “Crab” is the cheapest means for relascopic taxation in Ukraine. The estimated cost of the technology is estimated at 150 UAH, which is significantly less compared to foreign analogues, the cost of which usually exceeds 1000 UAH. Considering the need for relascopic templates for a wide range of manufacturers, scientists and students, the production of significantly cheaper domestic models is socially important for the forestry industry, science and education.
Description. The essence of the technology is based on recording trees in a forest stand using a relascopic template and a smartphone with specially developed software to quickly determine the sum of the cross-sectional areas of each forest element, the total density of the planting and the stock per 1 hectare. Increasing the accuracy of relascopic taxation due to the possibility of carrying out automated accounting using a template with all relascopic coefficients provided for in the standards.
