Registration for the Future Simple Hack hackathon: innovative educational solutions for future generations has been announced

The largest championship for IT professionals in Europe, DEV Challenge, announces the start of the second Future Simple Hack hackathon as part of the Future Perfect program.

The June hackathon will be dedicated to International Children’s Day. According to a Future Perfect survey, 93% of parents and guardians want their child to learn English. Therefore, the goal of the second Future Simple Hack is to bring together experts from different industries to create prototypes and concepts for digital products for learning English among children aged 3 years and older.

“English is an integral part of the modern educational process: research shows that 78% of children are already learning it as a language of international communication. However, for 51% of them this is limited to classes in educational institutions. Therefore, we see the need to generate new digital solutions for children to learn English,” comments Valeria Ionan, Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine for European Integration.

During the second hackathon, teams will be able to choose: to complete a challenge from Future Perfect as part of the AI and EdTech tracks or present their own solution. The proposed ideas can solve both the needs of Ukrainian users and reach an international audience to popularize the Ukrainian product.

“The modern educational process is unthinkable without the English language. According to research, 93% of parents are interested in their children learning English. This is due to the current challenges facing the younger generation. For children, perfect knowledge of English provides a window of opportunity. Therefore, it is important for us to ensure the creation of innovative digital solutions for children to learn English,” notes Dmitry Zavgorodniy, Deputy Minister for Digital Development, Digital Transformations and Digitalization.

We invite developers, designers, analysts, specialists in the fields of AI and education, representatives of business and startups, business management, marketing, as well as students to offer their vision of modern teaching methods in the hackathon agenda:

  • May 31 – June 21: registration
  • June 21: online opening with presentation of main tasks and challenges
  • June 22-29: work in teams, consideration of questions from participants, intensive courses and support from mentors
  • June 29: deadline for submission of solutions and selection of finalists
  • July 1: offline final in Kyiv with pitching of finalist teams, reports from speakers, announcement of winners and summing up.

To participate, submit an application before June 21 using the link, indicating the presence of a team. If a participant does not have a team, the organizers will help with finding and forming one.

The best solutions will receive prizes from Sigma Software, Ukrainian Startup Fund, SKELAR, Beetroot Academy, Speakingclub.ua, as well as the opportunity to collaborate within the language program, which will allow participants to influence the learning of the English language. Winning teams may consider implementing the solution pro bono within Future Perfect or build their own business model around it. The idea will belong to the participating co-authors.
