On November 12, 2019, the MES will present the Open Ukrainian Citation Index project (OUCI), a new service for searching and analyzing scientific citations of scientists. It will become the first element of the future National Science and Information System, the creation of which will be undertaken by the MES next year.
The project developers will explain why OUCI is needed and how it will work, what will be the useful service for various target audiences – researchers, teachers, business representatives, grantors, editorial staff of scientific journals, librarians, educational and scientific executives, etc. In particular, it will be about how OUCI can help with finding new research results and improving scientific communication.

An OUCI pilot launch is also planned on the same day so that anyone can test the system and submit their proposals.
Background: The Open Ukrainian Citation Index is a project to create a search engine and scientific citation database that comes from all publications that use the Cited-by service from Crossref and support the Initiative for Open Citations. The service is developed by specialists of the State Scientific and Technical Library.
