PRODUCT COOLING SYSTEM IN THE TECHNOLOGICAL SCHEME OF CHEMICAL PRODUCTION

PURPOSE:

The development is intended for cooling the product during the formation of granules in the production of granular mineral fertilizers, which provides a significant improvement in their quality.

DESCRIPTION:

Technological failures in the production of granular mineral fertilizers often occur due to improper cooling of the product during the formation of granules. The situation is complicated by the fact that objectively, in today’s conditions, the outside air temperature often exceeds the design-calculated, than it is. In addition, the relative humidity of the air sometimes reaches values ​​of 60 … 70%, the initial flow of liquid reflux of the product has a temperature of 100 … 120 ° C. At the exit from the granulation tower after the fluidized bed apparatus, the product temperature can reach 30 … 35 ° C, and the moisture content in the product is 15 … 20%. This leads to the “sticking” of the granules during storage and, in fact, to the loss of both the presentation and the product, and ultimately to unforeseen additional costs of primary raw materials – nitric acid and ammonia. Pre-cooling the product will ensure its stability during storage and reduce losses. The Ukrainian Academy has developed a technology for conditioning granular mineral fertilizers, which provides for simultaneous cooling and drying of granules, while cooling and drying of granules is carried out in an air stream previously cooled to 13 … 15 ° C. Pre-cooling of air is carried out by lowering to a temperature of 0 .. .8 ° C ammonia, which is then sent to the technological process for the production of granular mineral fertilizers. The conditioning system of granular mineral fertilizers contains an air treatment apparatus, a centrifugal fan and a pump, an absorption lithium bromide refrigeration machine, and a heating heat exchanger.

TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS:

    • reduction of product loss – 50%;
    • type of refrigerant – liquid ammonia (T = 268 K, P = 0.5 MPa (abs.)
    • refrigerant consumption – 5.0 … 5.5 t / h;
    • refrigeration output of the installation – 3126 kW;
    • chilled product capacity – 1500 t / day;
    • dimensions (air treatment apparatus) – 4.2×4.0x2.8 m.

ADVANTAGES:

Domestic scientists have developed an improved method of conditioning granular mineral fertilizers and a system for its implementation by using a pre-cooled refrigerant to cool the outside air, and introducing new structural units, which allows them to be used under any conditions, that is, it provides versatility and increases the environmental safety and quality of production of granular mineral fertilizers.
