METHOD FOR REMOTE ASSESSMENT OF ECOLOGICAL STATE AND WATER QUALITY OF INLAND WATER BODIES

PURPOSE:

A comprehensive assessment of the ecological state of continental water bodies is used for long-term monitoring and forecasting, through the use of modern and retrospective materials of Earth remote sensing and ground-based observations.

DESCRIPTION:

The result of the assessment is: a set of thematic maps of the state of water bodies (types of biotopes, values of vegetation and water index, surface temperature, indicators of landscape diversity) of high and medium spatial dissociation; statistical tables with the values of the areas of the selected components and indicators of ground-based observations; graphic results of modeling and forecasting the state of water bodies. On request, a study of the ecological state of any individual reservoir or complex of reservoirs can be performed.

ADVANTAGES:

In contrast to the known analogues, the development has advantages in simplifying and increasing the efficiency of assessing the ecological state of aquatic ecosystems, covering large water areas and the possibility of studying the retrospective state of water bodies. Allows you to identify shallow aquatic landscape complexes that not only affect the water regime, but also are a factor in the formation of physicochemical and hydrobiological characteristics of the aquatic environment.

RECOMMENDED FIELD OF APPLICATION:

Environmental organizations.

RESULTS OF THE RESEARCH:

Provides consistent results.

STAGE OF THE DEVELOPMENT READINESS:

Tested under laboratory conditions.

TRANSFER OPPORTUNITY:

    • Collaborative bringing to the industrial level.
    • Sales of finished products.

NOVELTY:
