The proposed design of the flywheel has a solid rim, the spokes are split and installed with an outward inclination from the hub to the rim, which allows winding a thin continuous elastic tape on the hub in several rows for installation and free (radial) movement of the tape from the hub to the rim during rotation. This changes the mass of the flywheel rim during operation and thus increases the dynamic moment of inertia of the flywheel. The spokes are equipped with a latch for stopping the elastic band, which is automatically triggered when the flywheel rotational speed is close to the nominal, which makes it possible to increase the dynamic moment of inertia of the flywheel during the working stroke.
An increase in the dynamic moment of inertia of the flywheel during the operation of the mechanism and a decrease in energy consumption during its acceleration. The proposed flywheel has a fairly simple design and allows increasing the mass of the rim during rotation, which leads to an increase in the dynamic moment of inertia, and this prevents the occurrence of large radial stress and prevents the destruction of the flywheel rim and helps to reduce energy consumption during acceleration of the mechanism.
