From January 11 to March 15, 2022, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology of the State of Israel announce a competition for joint research projects for 2022-2023. Scientists of higher education, research institutions and enterprises are invited to participate.
Project proposals are accepted in the areas:
- Applied mathematics (topological materials; applied mathematics in number theory; cryptography; computational mathematics);
- Jewish Heritage (Digital Humanities: Jewish-Ukrainian Heritage and History).
Project managers and principal participants may submit multiple applications, but will not be able to receive funding for more than one project.

- Covering letter
Requirements: 1 copy, scanned copy is not allowed; on the letterhead of the applicant institution, the name of the general project, the priority area, the name of the supervisor and the list of applications. Be sure to note that research on the topic of the project is not funded from the state budget within the framework of other competitions. Candidates address the letter to the Deputy Minister of Education and Science for European Integration O. Shkuratov.
- Participant Application Form
Requirements: 2 copies, a scanned copy of the pages with signatures and a seal from the Israeli partner is allowed, from the Ukrainian side – the original; the form is filled out sequentially in Ukrainian and English in one file.
- Confirmation letter from the Israeli partner-project leader
Requirements: 1 copy, a scanned copy is allowed; on the letterhead of the partner institution, free-form text must indicate the leaders, as well as the name of the common project. Candidates should address the letter to the head of the applicant institution.
- The act of examination for the open publication of materials on the topic of the project
Requirements: 1 copy, a scanned copy is not allowed; the expert commission of the institution approves the conclusion, the materials of the project proposal should not contain information prohibited for public disclosure, the text is in any form.
- CV of the Ukrainian and Israeli scientific supervisors of the project
Requirements: 1 copy; CVs of each manager are provided in Ukrainian and English.
After preparing the documents, candidates fill out a Google questionnaire, in which they add the completed application (.doc format).
All paper materials must be in one signed folder, on which it is necessary to indicate the name of the competition and the applicant institution, the topic of the project and the name of the leader. Documents can be sent by mail (simple sending, in case of transfer by the courier of Nova Poshta – to the correspondence box in the MES lobby) or in-person (leaving in the correspondence box) to the address: Ukraine, 01601, Kyiv, Tarasa Shevchenko boulevard, 16, Ministry education and science of Ukraine.
Winners are allocated funding for a year with the possibility of an extension for a second year. The decision on funding for the second year is made after reviewing the results of the first year of operation.
Each of the parties covers the costs associated with the stay of scientists in a partner country (transport and per diem costs, accommodation, medical insurance, visa support).
Information about the winners will be published on the website of the Ministry of Education and Science in the section “Results of the competitions”.
