Brief description, positive qualities and prospects for application.

The project solves the scientific problem of creating new software tools that improve the quality of the functioning of dynamic positioning systems (DPS) of sea vessels and the introduction of which makes it possible to increase the level of safety of modern navigation.

The subject of the study is the dynamic positioning systems (DPS) of a vessel, taking into account the peculiarities of the process of human interaction with the technical means of navigation. The object of research is the processes of dynamic positioning by the movement of the vessel. The purpose of the work is to create software tools to improve the quality of the functioning of the SDS of sea vessels.

Models and methods have been created to improve the accuracy and reliability of ship motion control in dynamic positioning, which is achieved through the use of additional devices in the onboard controller of the ship motion control system to obtain estimates of the ship vector parameters.

The structure and principles of forming a database of navigation situations and precedents (the most successfully applied decisions of shipmasters) that took place in the past are determined. A software module has been developed for guiding the vessel through the channels during dynamic positioning. On the basis of the research, new models and methods for creating software tools for dynamic positioning systems for marine vessels adapted to the requirements of electronic navigation (E-navigation) and the current legislation in the field of shipping are proposed. The developed models, algorithms and software tools for managing the process of dynamic positioning ensure the safety of the ship’s movement throughout the entire time period of its operation and can find practical application in the creation of promising high-precision intelligent software and hardware systems for supporting decisions in dynamic positioning systems.
