Brief description, advantages, further prospects for application.

Pigs of the Duroc, Pietrain, Great White, Ukrainian Meat and Landrace breeds differ in the frequencies of the genotypes of the MC4R and CTSL genes. Thus, only in animals of the Landrace breed, the MC4R gene is characterized by a monomorphic state, MC4RGG. Large white and Duroc pigs are characterized by a high level of inbredness. Thus, the animal population of the Duroc breed has a deficit of heterozygotes for both studied genes (the fixation index in both cases is 0.433), and the population of the Large White breed has a positive value of the fixation index for the CTSL gene.

We noted that for almost half of the sows (46%), the appearance of at least one stillborn piglet in the nest occurred already during the 1st farrowing. In general, this distribution is well approximated by the exponential model equation. Nearly 90% of the analyzed sows from the 8 farrowings examined had at least one stillborn piglet in three to seven farrowings.

The level of organization of the system “number of stillborn piglets” and “proportion of stillborn piglets” varies significantly among sows of all ages. At the same time, there is a probable increase in entropy estimates for both indicators from the 1st to the 8th farrowing.
