Methodology for determining seismic hazard parameters at construction sites for seismic design and construction

Appointment. Determination of seismic hazard parameters necessary to protect buildings and structures from earthquakes, in accordance with the requirements of the State Building Code B.1.1.2014 Construction in seismic regions of Ukraine and European building standards EUROCODE-8.

Advantages. The accuracy of assessing the seismic hazard of construction sites has been significantly improved. More economical design solutions are chosen for the construction of earthquake-resistant structures by taking into account the spectral properties of seismic vibrations from dangerous seismically active zones and avoiding the influence of resonant and amplifying properties of soils under the designed structures.

Description. The technique makes it possible to clarify the level of seismic hazard of the territory and to identify within its boundaries areas with soil conditions that enhance or weaken seismic vibrations. For each site, calculated accelerograms and reaction spectra are generated taking into account the nonlinear deformation of the soil.
