Information on this invitation will help guide you through the priorities of the ISAR Sectoral Support to Civil Society Project. USAID).

The overall goal of the “Civil Society Sectoral Support Initiative” is to improve the conditions for civil society and strengthen the institutional capacity of CSOs to increase the self-charging of the public sector in Ukraine.

ISAR Unity is the organization responsible for providing grants from the Initiative. Within this
ISAR Grant Competition Unity invites individual researchers.

Purpose of the competition

The purpose of the competition is to study and research the activities of civil society in times of war by supporting individual research initiatives to research and highlight the work of the Civil Society in times of war.

The thematic priority of the competition is to study the activities of civil society during the war. Suggested but non-exclusive topics for research papers:

  • The activities of the GS in a large-scale war
  • Civil non-violent resistance movements.
  • The activities of the GS in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
  • Public initiatives to restore and overcome the consequences of the war.
  • The participation of the GS in the fight against the humanitarian crisis is caused by the large-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.
  • Volunteer support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
  • Social activity and initiatives of refugees and IDPs.
  • Participation of the diaspora in raising funds to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine and fight the humanitarian crisis, information resistance.
  • Informational resistance of civil society, including cyber-resistance of the GS and volunteer groups.
  • Participation of the GS in the post-war reconstruction.

Who can participate:

  • experts with a proven track record of at least two published scientific and/or analytical publications.
  • experts with an educational qualification level of bachelor and above.
  • experience working or collaborating with the non-governmental sector is a plus.

Applications will be accepted until June 23, 2023 23:59 Kyiv time.
