Laboratory stand for layered flows

Purpose. For the study of flat layered flows in the range of Reynolds numbers Re 0-15000.

Specifications. Production material (metal, plexiglass). The working fluid is water. For operation in the operating mode, it is necessary to connect to the water supply and drainage system.

  • Dimensions of the laboratory bench, m:
    • length 2.0
    • height 1.5
    • width 0.8
  • Dimensions of the working part, mm 500×1100
  • Layer thickness, mm 15
  • Operating speed range, m/s 0-1.0
  • Operating Reynolds number range (Re by layer thickness) 0-15000

Application area. Building sector.

Advantages. The design characteristics of the stand allow one to study layered flows in channels with complex-shaped boundaries (within the dimensions indicated above). Can be deposited within multi-colored markers. Methods for fixing characteristics – optical, magnetic, electromagnetic, computer processing is possible. The possibility of studying convection processes is provided. The design of the stand is collapsible.

Description. Conducting experimental studies of flows in flat channels of complex shape. Preliminary studies of territory models, identification of the consequences of construction in water areas and potential hazards – features of hydrological processes, flow structure, evolution of surface pollution, dynamics of bottom soils in water areas.
