SSO “Ukrainian Institute of Scientific and Technical Expertise and Information” and “Ukrainian National Office of Intellectual Property and Innovation” (UkrNOIVI) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation to develop the innovation ecosystem as an important part of the country’s innovation economy.
The document provides for the creation of an information cluster within the innovation ecosystem in order to determine an innovation indicator and calculate innovation activity by analyzing information on patent activity.
Objectives of the Memorandum:
- coordination of efforts in the field of legal protection and protection of intellectual property rights, technology transfer and commercialization of scientific research results,
- further active development of the TISC network, as well as assistance in the development of an innovative environment, professional training of specialists in this field, assistance in creating conditions for the development of an innovative ecosystem;
- joint expert participation in the development and subsequent commercialization of innovative projects;
- holding joint educational events in the field of IP and innovation, trainings on technology transfer.
The cooperation envisaged by the document will be useful, first of all, for the future of Ukraine, – emphasized the head of the IP office Olena Orlyuk: “Cooperation between the IP office and UkrINTEI will allow us to create practical synergy that will benefit Ukraine as a whole. We are signing not just a formal memorandum, we are interested in developing, filling with content the developed strategies and plans in the field of innovation development, turning them into concrete results.”
Also, such cooperation will help Ukrainian creators to develop their developments in their homeland, – said Bohdan Avramchuk, Deputy Director for Scientific and Expert Activities of UkrISTEI: “Our goal is to leave innovative developments here, in Ukraine, to stop the outflow of scientists abroad. This is necessary to defeat the aggressor.”
In addition, the Technology and Innovation Support Center was opened on the basis of UkrISTEI.
