As part of the European Union’s Horizon Europe program, the formation of consortia and the submission of applications for participation in the ERC Starting Grant 2024 competition (ERC Starting Grant 2024) continues.
The European Research Council is the European Union’s leading organization established to fund cutting-edge scientific research. European Research Council Starting Grants are designed to support scientists of any nationality with 2-7 years post-PhD research experience and a promising scientific legacy. Applicants must demonstrate the innovative nature, ambition and feasibility of their research proposal and may apply at the stage of formation and establishment of their own independent research group or program. Starting grants can be up to EUR 1.5 million for a period of up to 5 years.
The grant may provide additional funding of up to EUR 1 million to cover the costs of moving performers to the EU or associated countries, purchasing the necessary equipment and / or paying for access to large infrastructure facilities and / or other costs for experimental and field research except for personnel costs.
