Serial production of allogeneic MSCs of animal origin for the needs of veterinary medicine

Purpose. Release of small allogeneic batches of MSCs for scientific research and practical use in veterinary medicine.

Description. Stem cells are obtained from young healthy donor animals according to the relevant protocols in accordance with the temporary technological regulations.

Specifications. The technology for obtaining MSCs requires a specialized laboratory and appropriate certified equipment of specialists specially trained for this.

Application area. Veterinary medicine, biology, cell engineering, transplantation.

Advantages. The technology for obtaining allogeneic MSCs was developed and adapted to the relevant conditions at the NUBIP of Ukraine in 2005-2022. with state financial support in compliance with the requirements focused on international standards. It provides for obtaining allogeneic stem cells from young healthy animal donors, allows obtaining from one animal and storing a whole series of stem cells according to predetermined characteristics and using them both immediately after receipt and after long-term storage in a cryobank.

Technical and economic effect. The waiting time for the required dose of material is significantly reduced, high-cost reagents are saved in the processes of cultivation and obtaining a pure culture of stem cells, the cost of one therapeutic dose of cellular material is reduced by almost 10 times compared to the dose of cells obtained by autogenous means. Allogeneic stem cells obtained from young healthy donor animals are safe to use, since they do not have deviations in terms of cytogenetic control for their karyotype stability.
