Cambridge Open Funding Initiative = removing barriers to open access publishing

The Cambridge Open Funding Initiative is a new pilot project to support authors from low- and middle-income countries who wish to publish their research in open access in Cambridge journals but do not have the funding available.

This pilot approach is being implemented through pooled funding pooling financial support from Cambridge and its institutional partners.

The Cambridge Open Funding Initiative reaches over 5,000 institutions around the world. Over 100 countries are eligible to fully fund open access publication in all gold and hybrid journals at no direct cost to authors or their institutions.

Ukraine is one of the countries included in this initiative. The full list of participating countries can be found here.

Information for eligible authors

The project is open to authors from July 1, 2023 to December 31, 2024. Application is not required. Authors automatically have the right to open access publication as soon as their article is accepted. The right to publish is determined by the ownership of the correspondent authors.
