A method for assessing the prospects of oil and gas bearing areas on land based on the results of remote and ground-based studies

Purpose. Rapid assessment of the oil and gas potential of land areas at the stages preceding their introduction into prospecting and exploration drilling.

Specifications. The technical result of determining the prospects of areas and constructing map diagrams in pseudo-color gradations, the value of which is proportional to oil and gas prospects on a scale of 1:50000 – 1:10000

Application area. Geology. Oil and gas industries.

Advantages. High efficiency in obtaining results, low cost. Simultaneous determination of the spatial location of promising areas and their productivity, and not just traps as natural reservoirs that can be filled with an equal degree of probability with both oil or gas and formation water

Description. The method helps in solving oil and gas exploration problems in various geological and landscape conditions, identifying reservoir traps within research areas and assessing their productivity. This significantly increases the reliability of assessing the oil and gas potential of land areas as a whole. The method provides a forecast of the presence of hydrocarbon deposits at a depth of 1500-6000 m with a probability of about 80%.
