Purpose. To restore currently lost technologies in Ukraine, in particular, in the field of cathode electronics and the production of cathode assemblies (emitters) for high-power microwave devices (magnetrons, klystrons, LBHs, etc.).
Specifications. For prototyping and manufacturing of units, parts and elements of high-power microwave devices, M1 grade copper and D16T grade duralumin are used. In the manufacture of energy output, special glass of the C52-1 brand is used, used in vacuum ultra-high-frequency powerful devices, and the desired shape is set by a glass blower. For the manufacture of cathodes, nickel tubes, a tungsten spiral, and an oxide mixture of BaO are used.
Application area. Radio engineering.
Advantages. In Ukraine there are no technologies and documentation for the restoration of powerful magnetrons that are produced or were produced in other countries.
Technical and economic effect. Regeneration (restoration) is more economically attractive (30-40%) than manufacturing, and from a technical point of view it allows not only the restoration of microwave devices, but at the same time modernizing the design of the device, taking into account the scientific and technical achievements that had appeared at the time of restoration. This development is directly related to the country’s defense capability (in part, the creation of massive microwave devices for their implementation in radar and air defense systems, as well as in the development of the latest types of weapons based on the latest physical principles (electromagnetic weapons).
Description. The approach chosen in the project to the restoration of high-power microwave devices was to carry out technological measures to organize the process of industrial production of microwave devices. For this purpose, documentation for microwave devices, which were not developed or produced at Ukrainian enterprises, were developed in the process of regeneration (restoration). This will make it possible to establish the production of such devices in Ukraine.
