On May 27–31, 2024 a training course on high-power lasers from the LASERLAB-EUROPE project of the EU Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Program will take place

Project LASERLAB-EUROPE (Integrated Initiative of European Laser Research Infrastructures – Integrated Initiative of European Laser Research Infrastructures) with high-power lasers May 27–31, 2024. The course will be held at the PYLA training center (Bordeaux, France).

Graduate students, early career scientists, and other professionals are invited to participate in the training course prior to submitting requests.

The lecture course and practical classes will be conducted by ten industry experts.

The course will include theoretical foundations, practical laboratory exercises, and a computational and modeling workshop.

Course topics:

  • high-power laser architecture;
  • femtosecond laser sources (oscillators);
  • reinforcement (fibers and solids);
  • beam processing and focusing;
  • nonlinear optics;
  • frequency conversion;
  • laser diagnostics and beam shaping

Attendance at the training course is limited to 12 participants. At the same time, Ukrainian scientists are encouraged to apply for participation.

The training course will be free, tickets and accommodation will be paid for by the LASERLAB-EUROPE project.

The application deadline is March 24, 2024.
