Technology of single-layer surfacing of corrosion-resistant steels and alloys

Purpose. To obtain corrosion resistance of the deposited metal already in the first layer, the chemical composition and high corrosion properties of the deposited metal are necessary.

Specifications. For electroslag surfacing with two belts: surfacing productivity – ≥ 40 kg/h; the share of base metal in the deposit is 5-7%. For plasma-powder surfacing: the share of the base metal in the deposited material is ≤ 5%; the ability to use a wide range of additive powders according to their chemical composition and properties.

Application area. Oil and gas complex, energy, mechanical engineering, other industries.

Advantages. The main advantage of this technology is high productivity, the use of single-layer surfacing instead of multi-layer, which already ensures in the first layer the necessary chemical composition and high corrosion properties of the deposited metal, surfacing productivity ≥ 40 kg/h.

Technical and economic effect. It is known that in the manufacture of hull petrochemical and power equipment, the costs for their anti-corrosion surfacing reach 15…20% of the total costs for the manufacture of such equipment. Replacing multi-layer anti-corrosion surfacing with a single-layer one allows you to almost halve the above-mentioned costs for anti-corrosion surfacing, as well as at least double productivity.

Description. A technology has been developed for single-layer arc surfacing of hydraulic cylinder rods using flux-cored wire PP-Np-30Kh20MN, which ensures the production of corrosion-resistant deposited metal with minimal penetration of the base metal. When using plasma-powder surfacing, it was found that alloys based on Ni and Fe have preferable wear resistance and corrosion resistance. A technology has been developed for single-layer plasma-powder surfacing of oil and gas valve parts using this alloy. The technology of ESP with two tapes has been created. The technology ensures already in the first layer the necessary chemical composition and high corrosion properties of the deposited metal, surfacing productivity ≥ 40 kg/h.
