An educational grant program to support women’s initiatives “Power of Women” starts

THE POWER OF WOMEN is an educational grant program to support women’s initiatives with a funding volume of participants’ projects of 5.7 million hryvnia in 2024, aimed at developing competencies and uniting women from different spheres to solve pressing humanitarian challenges in communities, strengthening women’s influence in planning and recovery processes.

Applications for participation in the POWER OF WOMEN 2024 program are accepted from:

  • activists and public figures;
  • representatives of local government bodies;
  • socially responsible entrepreneurs (with a focus on entrepreneurs with IDP status/engaged in the production of essential goods).

150 women and their teams will receive educational, expert support with a focus on developing their own potential to stabilize and adapt work to wartime conditions, establish existing and build new partnerships, coordinate joint activities with local organizations, authorities, businesses, and international donors to ensure effective responding to the challenges associated with Russian aggression against Ukraine and joining efforts for reconstruction and development.

50 humanitarian initiatives of program participants will receive funding in the amount of up to 114 thousand hryvnia each. The total amount of funding for initiatives in 2024 is 5.7 million hryvnia.

50 women entrepreneurs will receive additional educational opportunities, expert advice on developing and scaling their own business, and the opportunity to present their products for ordering within the program.

The POWER OF WOMEN 2024 project is being implemented by the NGO “Institute of Partnership and Sustainable Development” with technical support from UN Women in Ukraine and with funding from the UN Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF). WPHF is a flexible and rapid funding instrument that supports quality interventions aimed at strengthening the capacity of local women to prevent conflict, respond to crises and emergencies, and seize key peacebuilding opportunities.

Educational support for women entrepreneurs under the POWER OF WOMEN 2024 program is provided with funding from the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE).

The Agency for European Innovation is a partner in this initiative and contributes its expertise.
