Technology for the production of polymer nanocomposites with intercalated functional additives

Purpose. To obtain new polymer nanocomposites with intercalated functional additives with improved mechanical and physico-chemical properties for use in the chemical industry, construction, mechanical and apparatus engineering, water treatment, purification, and filtration of water.

Specifications. The developed technology contains one production line using dispensers, mixing reactors, equipped with reactor heating elements with an emitter for ultrasonic treatment. Polymer nanocomposites are produced by intercalation using the following reagents: 10 wt.% PVA “special purity”, functional additives SpvS = 10 wt.% (magnetite, goethite, double layered hydroxides). The sequence of stages, the mode of carrying out processes, and the concentrations of functional additives have been established. The technology for producing a polymer nanocomposite consists of the following stages: preparation of initial solutions, production of ashes by ultrasonic treatment of ashes of functional additives with polyvinyl alcohol. The technology makes it possible to obtain polymer nanocomposites with specified mechanical and physicochemical properties.

Application area. Production of plastics in primary forms; research and experimental developments in the field of natural and technical sciences.

Advantages. The use of the developed technology for the synthesis of polymer nanocomposites makes it possible to obtain new materials from cheap domestic raw materials that have improved mechanical properties and a longer service life.

Technical and economic effect. The use of the created technology will improve the efficiency of finished products, namely films, adsorbents, filters, granules for various purposes due to the use of cheap raw materials, compared to similar materials, and increasing the service life. This technology uses non-toxic substances, which makes production cheaper and environmentally friendly.
