The Foundation for Polish Science (FNP) announces the fourth competition of the program “FOR UKRAINE”

The Foundation for Polish Science (FNP) announces the fourth competition of the program “FOR UKRAINE”. Thanks to this initiative, Ukrainian scientists can establish cooperation with Polish colleagues to conduct joint research in the field of humanities and social sciences.

Applications are accepted until June 3, 2024.

The goal of the “FOR UKRAINE” program is to provide support to researchers and researchers from Ukraine so that they can continue scientific work in collaboration with Polish scientists and research centers.

The program provides for an annual grant of PLN 268,800 for the implementation of a Polish-Ukrainian scientific project, the subject of which will cover issues related to the development of civil society, democracy, European integration or security. The topic of the projects should be important for both countries.

A pair of scientists can take part in the competition of the “FOR UKRAINE” program – one from Poland, the other from Ukraine. Applicants must have a doctoral degree completed within 12 years at the time of application. Unlike previous competitions organized under the program, the person who will represent the Ukrainian side must not only be employed in a Ukrainian research institution at the time of application, but also reside and carry out the project in Ukraine.

The application on behalf of both scientists is submitted by a person working in Poland, together with an institution that conducts scientific research in Poland (host organization) and in which the project will be implemented.

Thanks to funds received from donors supporting the FOR UKRAINE program, the fourth competition provides an opportunity to receive funding for the salary of an additional team member – a graduate student, who will be involved in the implementation of the project.

Applications submitted to the competition will be assessed by an international group of experts appointed by the Polish Science Foundation.

Applications will only be accepted in English in the electronic system on the website: www.wnioski.fnp.org.pl

Deadline for applications in the fourth call: June 3, 2024.

In the fourth competition, the Foundation plans to provide funding for three grants. Results are scheduled to be announced in the fourth quarter of 2024.
