Float filter for nitrogen and complex fertilizers

Purpose. The installation is designed for melting nitrogen and complex fertilizers.

Specifications. The design of the filters is based on the property of particles contained in a liquid to be destroyed by mechanical interaction with each other, the walls of the housing and the rotor blades in an intense hydrodynamic flow.

Application area. Mechanical engineering. Chemical industry (fertilizer production).

Advantages.

Using a filter allows you to:

  • feed purified melt into the granulator;
  • reduce the number of granulator cleanings by 3–4 times;
  • simplify maintenance of the nitrogen fertilizer melt granulation unit;
  • obtain a homogeneous suspension of nitrogen melt or complex fertilizer pulp with a powdery admixture;
  • improve the granulometric composition of the resulting product;
  • expand the product range by introducing powdered or liquid components into the melt.

The filter is simple in design, reliable in operation, durable, and has a long operating cycle between preventive inspections and repairs.

Description. The production of complex and nitrogen fertilizers with powdered impurities is associated with the need to spray (disperse) the melt (pulp) of these fertilizers in a tower or drum granulators and fluidized bed apparatus. The operation of melt nozzles and granulators in the production of such fertilizers is associated with frequent capping of the nozzle holes, which leads to a decrease in the quality of the resulting granules. When using traditional filters, one type of impurity may be filtered out, which leads to a change in the chemical composition of the fertilizer. You can get rid of this by using a nitrogen fertilizer melt filter, which crushes, averages and filters particles of powdered impurities before feeding them into the nozzle or granulator.
