Purpose. For the manufacture of light load-bearing and enclosing structures of industrial and civil buildings, construction.
Technical properties. Recommended rational use of the proposed structures for spans of 24 – 36 m.
Scope. Construction industry enterprises manufacturing modern metal structures.
Advantages. An analogue of a combined metal truss structure is a metal arch reinforced with a system of diagonals and racks. Such a design of a metal arch is not effective, since it requires the use of additional structural elements, which leads to excessive material overruns, installation difficulties and a general increase in the cost of the structure. A combined metal truss structure, consisting of a system of diagonals and racks, support ribs, is distinguished by the fact that it has belts of rectangular cross-section, a lower belt in the form of an arched element, which ensures multifunctionality and significant savings in material costs.
Description. The essence of the model is the use of belts in the form of rectangular pipes, a lower belt in the form of a downward-curved arch working in tension. This design of the lower chord is more economical than the compressed one. On the contrary, the upper chord in the form of two compressed rectangular pipes and braced with semi-arches works as a single whole and additionally performs the functions of the bridge fence, which leads to a decrease in material consumption and an increase in the efficiency of such a structure. The truss design, due to the combined upper chord and the lower arched chord, which works in tension, provides a variety of applications and significantly reduces material costs.
