Purpose. To develop a technology for geoinformation assessment and cartographic reflection of the efficiency and potential of urban green areas to provide ecosystem services. The technology should be focused on processing uncertain and limited information and accessible for use by specialists involved in urban planning.
Technical properties. The technology is a set of procedures for geoprocessing spatial data. The technology operates on the basis of the desktop geoinformation system QGIS, running on MacOS X, Linux, UNIX and Windows. Technical requirements for QGIS: processor frequency – minimum 2.2 GHz, platform – x86/x64 with SSE2 extensions; memory /RAM minimum 4 GB/recommended 8 GB and higher. Display properties – 24-bit depth, screen resolution – 1024×768 (recommended 96 dpi), graphics adapter – 64 MB of video memory (at least 256 MB) with support for NVIDIA, AMD and INTEL. The QGIS interface is based on the Qt library. Vector and raster formats Shapefile and GeoTIFF are supported. Web services are supported, including Web Map Service and Web Feature Service. QGIS is free software under the GNU GPL license.
Scope. Territorial planning, in particular, urban planning and management of urban development, environmental policy, environmental protection. Potential consumers of products manufactured using the technology (geodatabases, electronic maps, etc.) are institutes and institutions of urban planning and territorial development; governing bodies of territorial communities.
Advantages. An example of the technology implementation for the territory of Kyiv, carried out at the level of the best world analogues, is important for the further development of the problem of ecosystem services and related problems, in particular, the standardization of impacts on ecosystems and landscapes, objective determination of priorities of environmental policy at different levels, as a scientific basis for adaptive environmental management, assessment of environmental geoinformation technologies in solving environmental problems of a territorial nature
Technical and economic effect. The use of technology aimed at the post-war restoration of Ukraine is envisaged in institutions involved in the development of urban planning documentation, environmental policy, management of green and nature conservation areas. Allows to optimize the adoption of urban planning decisions. Thus, calculating the efficiency of green zones allows them to accurately differentiate in the provision of ecosystem services. Consequently, managers have the opportunity to determine priority measures to increase the efficiency of green zones with minimal time and money. The use of technology allows you to choose the optimal trajectory of urban planning activities.
Description. The essence of the technology is to create automated models for accounting for ecosystem services. The technology contains: a general assessment algorithm; automated models for calculating efficiency and assessment; geodatabase. The general algorithm consists of: modeling the conditions that determine the efficiency of the function and determine the volumes of ecosystem services; determining the efficiency of functioning; converting efficiency values into volumes of ecosystem services; taking into account the risks of losing ecosystem services today and in the future. Automated models are a combination of technological processes of geoprocessing and analysis using GIS software tools. The geodatabase in GeoPackage format in accordance with the standards of the Open Geospatial Consortium contains vector, raster sets of geodata, styles of their presentation.
