PURPOSE:
Ukrainian University has developed and proposes to introduce an LED blanket for the treatment of jaundice, which has no negative effect on children and helps children more comfortably and effectively.
DESCRIPTION:
Two out of three babies show jaundice after birth. In the case of newborns, this means that the liver does not have time to remove bilirubin from the body. Bilirubin is toxic; it can cause hearing loss and permanent brain damage. And pathological jaundice, if left untreated, leads to death. Phototherapy is the most common way to treat jaundice. However, in the maternity hospitals of Ukraine the situation with phototherapy devices is extremely unsatisfactory. Today’s devices have serious shortcomings that negatively affect the mental and physical condition of newborns. Ukrainian University has developed a compact and convenient device for a child, which can be easily transported. He does not shine in the eyes of the child. The LEDs that are used in the device fully comply with the requirement that the spectrum of light corresponds to the radiation power. The device also has a built-in system for protecting and maintaining the optimum temperature for the child during exposure and the ability to control through a mobile application.
ADVANTAGES:
The LED blanket has a flexible base, characterized by the presence of a built-in protection system, and the ability to control the device using a mobile application. Compliance with the spectrum of light and radiation power.
RECOMMENDED FIELD OF APPLICATION:
Maternity hospitals, regional and city hospitals (where newborns are treated).
