PURPOSE:
Ukrainian University has developed a new principle and apparatus for extracorporal continuous blood hyperthermia to achieve the positive effects of blood hyperthermia (primarily to achieve a powerful anti-inflammatory effect), eliminating the numerous complications that are observed when the patient’s entire body is heated.
DESCRIPTION:
An apparatus for extracorporeal continuous hyperthermia of blood with a closed-circuit was created, and a method for extracorporeal hyperthermia of blood in the treatment of purulent and inflammatory processes of the organs of the chest cavity was developed. The apparatus contains an automatic thermostat, a cylindrical heating device with spiral grooves, into which a polyvinyl chloride tube is inserted, inside which the patient’s blood flows, heating up to a predetermined temperature, is fed into another cubital vein of the patient. The essence of the technology lies in artificial hyperthermia (due to the action of bacterial agents), and the release of blood macrophages that interact with these bacterial agents, interleukins, while the anti-inflammatory mechanism is triggered.
ADVANTAGES:
There are no analogues to extracorporeal heating of blood for therapeutic purposes with a closed circuit. This starts a whole range of positive effects that develop with hyperthermia of the human body and there are no negative effects and complications that are recorded during the overheating of the entire human body.
