Purpose. Identification of internal defects in layered composites and composite-composite and metal-composite joints.
Technical feature.
- Frame rate, s–1 K 10
- Field of view, mm 40×40
- Time to change the field of view, s 1-3
- Thickness of the studied sample, mm Up to 10
- Depth of defect detection, mm К 8.
Application area. Metal science.
Advantages. Significantly simpler design of optical assemblies and electronic units compared to similar systems for detecting internal defects using the method of additive subtractive speckle interferometry. Much less sensitivity to vibrations and external interference compared to analogues. The ability to change the area of the studied surface area for detailed control. The possibility of creating simple and reliable systems for non-destructive testing of structural elements for operation in natural conditions.
Description. The operation of the flaw detector is based on an optical-digital method for detecting subsurface defects in composite panels and joints by recording and processing dynamic speckle images of the surface during its ultrasonic excitation. Scans the surface of the optical head for sequential probing of a panel or structural element.
