Purpose. The technology is intended for the use of matrices and fillers of natural origin, which are completely biodegradable and can be used for the manufacture of containers, instrument casings, household goods, furniture decorative elements, and it is also aimed at protecting the environment.
Description. In the method for producing a biocomposite material based on glutin and wood flour, implemented by pressure molding, a modifying additive sodium sulfate is added to the glutin solution in an amount of 10-120 50 wt. h. The introduction of sodium sulfate, safe and cheap, allows you to increase the rate of transition of the solution into the solid state, which has a positive effect on the process of structuring the biocomposite material.
Specifications. The tensile strength of the biocomposite material is 70-75 MPa, impact strength is 3.6-3.8 kJ/sq.m. The modifying additive sodium sulfate (Na2SO4) with a certain mass fraction was used.
Advantages. The technology for the formation of biocomposite products containing a modifying additive (sodium sulfate) ensures an increase in compressive strength by 6.0-6.5 times, and the heat treatment process is also intensified by 1.5-2.0 times compared to the formation of biocomposite products, not containing a modifying additive (sodium sulfate). The advantages of the developed technology are the use of components of natural origin, which are environmentally friendly, biodegradable and ensure the availability of raw materials at the same time as the high strength of biocomposite materials.
