Purpose. To reduce the negative impact of polymer composite material products on the environment through the use of matrices and fillers of natural origin.
Specifications. The tensile strength of the biocomposite material is 70-75 MPa, impact strength is 3.6-3.8 kJ/sq.m.
Application area. The technology for the production of biocomposite products based on glutin, containing the modifying additive sodium sulfate and wood flour, can be used for the production of decorative elements in the furniture industry, sports equipment, containers and household goods (disposable pots for seedlings).
Advantages. The technology for the formation of biocomposite products containing a modifying additive (sodium sulfate) ensures an increase in compressive strength by 6.0-6.5 times, and the heat treatment process is also intensified by 1.5-2.0 times compared to the formation of biocomposite products, not containing a modifying additive (sodium sulfate). The advantages of the developed technology are the use of components of natural origin, which are environmentally friendly, biodegradable and ensure the availability of raw materials at the same time as the high strength of biocomposite materials.
Technical and economic effect. The introduction of new biocomposite materials into production requires the involvement of a significant number of workers, in particular in the field of agricultural production, whose activities will consist of growing raw materials, collecting them, processing them and preparing them for use as fillers. It is also necessary to create enterprises that specialized in processing products based on biocomposites, which will provide new jobs and reduce the costs of obtaining new raw materials and improve the environmental situation in Ukraine and the world. The cost of manufacturing products based on biocomposite materials is 3.0-4.5 UAH. for a product weighing 30-50 g. The cost of raw materials (fillers of natural origin) can be reduced as a result of the application of industrial scale to the processes of growing, collecting and processing raw materials.
Description. The technology for forming a biocomposite material includes the operations of preparing the initial components (processing fillers and obtaining a glutin solution), dosing and mixing the components, tabletting the composition, pressing and heat treatment.
