The program includes panel discussions with the participation of scientists, engineers and government officials, topics – mine clearance, water resources, soils and forests, biodiversity, radiation safety, economic damage assessment.
Participants will identify and study the short-, medium- and long-term consequences of war on the ecosystem, agriculture, population and society of Ukraine. Particular attention will be paid to existing efforts to monitor and document environmental damage, and to identify opportunities where science and technology can be used to support Ukraine in addressing the environmental consequences of war. The purpose of the workshop is to provide a complete picture of the extent of the harm, highlight efforts to monitor it, and discuss possible ways to eliminate or mitigate the impact of the harm.
