Nanostructured composite materials

Purpose. Nanostructured composite materials based on calcium orthophosphates and natural polymers on titanium substrates are used to improve the biocompatibility of medical implants.

Technical specifications. The average crystallite size is 25-50 nm. The hardness of the cement with polymers is 2.5-5 MPa.

Scope. Nanostructured composite materials based on calcium orthophosphates (CaP) and natural polymers (chitosan (Ch), sodium alginate (Alg)) can be used in practical medicine, in particular in orthopedics, traumatology and dentistry to compensate for bone defects.

Advantages. Similar in composition to biogenic bone tissue; non-toxic; biocompatible; capable of resorption; enhance bone tissue regeneration; have antimicrobial properties; the mechanical properties of a metal implant are combined with a biocompatible coating material.
