Investigation of the compressibility of foundations reinforced by cementation using the drilling method

Purpose. It is proposed to use the presiometric method of research to assess the compressibility of reinforced foundations.

Scope. The development is used in the construction of important objects in Ukraine, mainly grain storage facilities and artificial foundations of other buildings and structures.

Advantages. There are no known world analogues of the use of the presiometric test method to assess the compressibility of reinforced foundations.

Description. The method consists in the fact that a borehole is drilled through the entire thickness of the reinforced soil, into which the pressuremeter probe is lowered. At specified depths, the compressibility of the foundation is tested in the horizontal direction. The compressibility of the reinforced soil in the vertical direction is determined taking into account the anisotropy coefficient. Its value can be determined in the laboratory by comparing the test data of samples cut parallel and perpendicular to the layering.
