Competitive selection for VRU awards and CMU scholarships for young scientists has begun

 

The reception of the documents for receiving the Verkhovna Rada awards and scholarships of the Cabinet of Ministers for Young Scientists has started. Applications should be submitted by higher and scientific institutions, enterprises by previous decisions of scientific councils.

The VRU awards will be awarded for 2020 and government scholarships for 2020-2022.

Candidates of up to 35 years (Doctors of Science up to 40 years) who have significant scientific achievements in conducting basic and / or applied research can apply for the Award. It can nominate both a scientist and a team of authors – up to 4 people.

The Verkhovna Rada annually awards up to 30 Prizes. The winners receive diplomas, badges and cash. Its amount is 60 subsistence minimums for able-bodied persons (as of January 1, 2020 it is over UAH 126 thousand).

The list of applicants and their work for the VRU Prize is accepted until March 1, 2020. Detailed application requirements can be found in the relevant Instruction. You must also add 10 brochure copies of the annotation to your document package.

Higher education institutions, scientific institutions and enterprises submit lists of candidates and necessary documents for the VRU Award to the Science Directorate of the Ministry of Education and Science. Non-MES institutions may also apply under the authority of the National Academy of Sciences, relevant sectoral academies, or central executive authorities.

Candidates with significant academic results up to 33 years of age (38 for PhD students or PhDs) may apply for CMU scholarships.

The government awards 320 monthly scholarships to young scientists for 2 years. Since July 1, 2019, their size has been doubled – up to 2 subsistence minimums for able-bodied people. It is currently over UAH 4.2 thousand.

Universities and scientific institutions, subordinate to the Ministry of Education and Science, must submit a list of candidates and supporting documents to the Ministry’s Science Directorate by March 10, 2020. See the MES letter for more details.

Scientific institutions and universities not under the responsibility of the Ministry of Education and Science submit documents for the scholarships of the CMU under the authority of branch academies of science or central executive bodies.
