BIOCIDES FOR PROTECTING PETROLEUM PRODUCTS AND MATERIALS AGAINST BIOLOGICAL EFFECTS

PURPOSE:

The development is designed to protect oil products, lubricants and cooling liquids, materials and equipment of circulating water supply and cooling systems of oil refineries from bioinfluence.

DESCRIPTION:

Petroleum products and other materials with a high percentage of hydrocarbons can change their basic performance properties due to biological effects. Considering this, a highly effective biocide based on S- (2-hydroxyethyl) enthanethiosulfonate has been proposed for the protection of oil products, emulsions, emulsols, paints and primers, cutting fluids (cutting fluids), mineral oils, equipment for circulating water supply and cooling systems of oil refineries, materials and equipment at factories producing from biodegradation. On the basis of studies of the antimicrobial action of S- (2-hydroxyethyl) entanethiosulfonate, its high efficiency as a biocide for the fight against the main microorganisms of refinery circulating waters was first established. It was found that with a total number of microorganisms of 240 mln cells in 1 ml of water after treatment with S- (2-hydroxyethyl) ethanethiosulfonate with a concentration of 0.1 mg / l, the number of microorganisms decreased to 0.002 mln cells in 1 ml. S- (2-hydroxyethyl) ethanethiosulfonate at a concentration of 0.1 mg / l reduces biofouling by 52-80 times (residual biofouling is 1.25-1.9%), corrosion by 7-21 times (residual corrosion is 4.7-14%) and salt deposits 3.4-4 times (residual salt deposits is 24-29%).
