SELECTIVE EXTRACTION OF COAL FROM VERY THIN SEAMS (0.55-0.8 M)

PURPOSE:

For the extraction of coal and rock from thin seams.

DESCRIPTION:

Excavation of coal and rock is carried out separately, in two or one passes of the combine. Simultaneously with the extraction of the rock, it is laid in the goaf. The technology is implemented with various development systems: pillar, solid, combined. Elements of the technology have been tested in the mines of the Western Donbas and the Lviv-Volyn basin. Based on the test results, the output technical requirements for the creation of an excavating and filling complex of machines for separate excavation of coal and related rocks were developed.

ADVANTAGES:

    • the costs of maintaining mine workings are reduced, conditions are created for their reuse;
    • development of reserves of substandard capacity, which will increase the service life of mines.

TECHNICAL AND ECONOMIC EFFECT:

  1. The transition to selective technology will allow:
    • reduce the cost of coal mining by 10-13%;
    • additionally withdraw more than 340 million tons of coal from the subsoil (only for PJSC DTEK Pavlogradugol).
  1. Formation of a new philosophy of coal mining:
    • the rock remains in the mine;
    • coal with ash content up to 18% without enrichment is sent to the consumer.
  1. The heat of the combustion of coal that is released from the mine increases by 30% – from 4000 to 5760 kcal / kg.
