MULTI-BALL FUNCTIONAL COATINGS

PURPOSE:

Increasing corrosion resistance and improving the mechanical properties of the surface of metal products, as well as to provide catalytic properties of the surface of anodes in oxidation reactions of organic substances.

DESCRIPTION:

Multi-ball coatings consist of layers of various copper-nickel alloys up to 100 nm thick each. All coating layers, which periodically alternate, are electrochemically deposited from one galvanic bath. This is a modern type of coating, which has not yet entered the practice of electroplating shops.

TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS:

A coating containing 50-80% nickel has a microhardness of 410-680 HV, plastic, well adhered to an electronegative and corrosion unstable substrate such as the surface of neodymium magnets. A multi-ball coating consisting of layers of a nickel-copper alloy and a mixture of metals and their hydroxides has a 1.5-2 times higher catalytic activity in electrooxidation reactions and stability of surface properties, compared with a single-layer coating.

ADVANTAGES:

Compared to world analogues, it is possible to obtain thicker compact multi-ball coatings in industrial conditions, thanks to the use of a poly-ligand electrolyte in combination with the proposed electrolysis mode and surface preparation conditions.

TECHNICAL AND ECONOMIC EFFECT:

The economic feasibility of using multi-ball coatings is due to the saving of materials by increasing the service life of products and reducing the cost of their manufacture.
