Cooperation with the Chinese companies “Smart Success International Limited” and “Shizhen Tang Pharmaceutical Company” on the development of the saiga breeding nursery has been extended (the nursery is located in the buffer zone of the Askania-Nova Biosphere Reserve of the NAAS near the village of Kamysh, Chaplinsky District, Kherson Region), which is essential influenced the filling of the special fund of the institution, measures were taken to create other nurseries for rare species of ungulates.

The saiga is a rare species listed on the International Union for the Conservation of Animals’ Red List. The substances from the horns of this antelope are used to create medicines and are used in the People’s Republic of China in traditional medicine. The creation of a saiga breeding nursery will contribute to the preservation of a rare species, the organization of such facilities in the future, and in the future, with an increase in the number of animals, the production of medicines.
